The app
Do I need to create an account?
No. Tuyuc works without signing up: open the app and start exploring. The passport and the assistant work with an anonymous identifier of your installation, with no name, email or phone number.
Does it cost anything?
No. Tuyuc is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases.
I found a mistake in an entry.
Tell us the name of the destination and what is wrong; a photo or a screenshot helps. The guide’s editorial team reviews it.
The map and your location
How do I use it where there is no signal?
Before you set out, while connected, tap “Descargar” (Download) on the map screen to save the map of the peninsula to your phone. From then on the map and the entries you have opened work without signal. When a newer map is available, the app will offer to update it.
Why does it ask for my location?
To center the map on you and show what is near first, and to verify your passport visits. It is optional: without the permission everything else works the same. Your location is used in the moment and not stored, except when you record a visit: then where you were when you recorded it is stored.
I denied the location permission and now want to turn it on.
Open your phone’s settings, find Tuyuc and allow location “while using the app”. On iPhone it is under Settings › Tuyuc › Location; on Android, under Settings › Apps › Tuyuc › Permissions.
How do I get to a destination?
On each destination’s page, or on a route with all its stops, tap “Cómo llegar” (Get directions): the way opens in your phone’s maps app.
How do I free up space?
On the map screen you can delete the downloaded map; the map keeps working while you are connected.
The passport
How do I record a visit?
When you are at the destination, open its page and tap “Registrar visita” (Record visit). Stay within 50 metres with the page open for the verification time shown in the app. Then you earn that destination’s stamp and its points.
My visit is not recorded.
Check that location is allowed and that you are within 50 metres of the destination; inside a church the GPS signal can take a while, so move near the door or wait a little. Keep the page open until verification finishes. Each destination can be recorded once a day.
What are the stamps and points for?
They keep count of where you have been: one stamp for each destination you visit, points for each visit, and levels and badges as you go. They cannot be exchanged for prizes or money.
The assistant
Where do its answers come from?
Only from the guide’s texts approved by the editorial team. Each answer says which place or route it comes from, and when the guide does not have the answer it says so instead of making one up. The answers are generated by Google Gemini.
Why is it for adults only?
Google’s terms for its artificial intelligence service require it. The app asks for your consent before your first question.
An answer is wrong or offensive.
Tap “Reportar” (Report) under the answer and choose why: offensive or inappropriate, incorrect information, or another problem. The report reaches the Tuyuc team with the question and the answer, and nothing else about you.
Your data
What does Tuyuc keep about me?
Your conversations with the assistant and your passport visits, stamps and points, linked to the anonymous identifier of your installation. We do not ask for your name, email or phone number, and we do not use your data for advertising. The details are in the privacy notice.
How do I delete my data?
In the app, under “Acerca de” (About), tap “Borrar mis datos” (Delete my data). Your conversations, visits, stamps, points and badges are deleted from the server, along with your installation’s anonymous identifier. It cannot be undone. Uninstalling the app deletes what it saved on your phone, but not what is on the server.
